In late 2006, Catalyst Private Equity Fund I Limited was launched with a focus on investing and growing energy and water technology SME’s in the MENA region. This fund was the first with this focus, including the first to begin investing in commercial renewable energy businesses and projects. This fund has been fully deployed since 2010, and partially exited, with performance in the top half of similar vintage funds.

1- Catalyst is a unique regional investment management firm that creates, invests in, and grows successful projects and industrial product and technology companies, with a specialization in the energy and water sectors.

2- The Catalyst team has experience in project development, investment structuring and management, business building, and operational leadership. This is applied to both the development of energy projects and to international and regional technology companies focused on regional and international markets. Catalyst’s value addition includes upgrading portfolio environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards and processes. Catalyst’s experience includes direct renewable energy project development as well as experience in leading technology organizations in the MENA region for global clients. This comes with a background of founding, leading, advising, and/or investing in over a dozen international and regional project, technology and industrial companies, including in cooperation with international strategic partners.

3- The Catalyst team is based in Jordan with affiliate offices in the UAE and other regional markets, along with a strong international network including relationships with institutions regionally and internationally. The regional presence and international relationships reflect both the regional and international synergies that will help our efforts succeed.

In 2016, the Catalyst MENA Clean Energy Fund (CMCF) was launched with a focus on renewable infrastructure.
