Millennium Announces Successful Implementation of its Solar Solution at the Arab Model School
Amman – Millennium Energy Industries (MEI) announced the successful operation of its solar hot water supply and swimming pool heating system for the Arab Model School in Amman.
The solar heating solution is now the primary energy source for heating the school’s 20m x 12m indoor swimming pool and fulfilling the schools domestic hot water needs. In the 3rd month of operation, the system has demonstrated that it will save approximately 50,000 Liters of diesel consumption per year on average.
The turn key system designed and successfully installed by Millennium will enable the Arab Model School to save the majority of its diesel fuel bill while enjoying hot water and warm swimming all year round. With current diesel prices, Arab Modern School is expected to recover its initial investment back in approximately one year from savings on diesel fuel consumption, while at the same time, providing a healthier environment for its students and the community.
“Millennium’s solar heating solutions are the answer to the predicament which the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors are facing because of the continuously increasing energy prices in Jordan, it is about time we adopt solutions that significantly cut our conventional energy bill,” stated Engineer Hisham Mikhi, General Manager of MEI Heating Systems.
“Solar energy is utilized in Europe in areas with less than half the solar energy we have in Jordan because it is proven feasible and economical, we might as well be utilizing that renewable energy source with all the sun radiation we are blessed with,” continued Engineer Mikhi.
On his part, Dr. Fahmi Abu Arja, Director of Arab Model School said “Our Board of Directors investigated the solar option for 2 years before choosing Millennium’s solution, since the commissioning of the system three months ago; we have not paid any money for diesel fuel, which exceeded our performance expectations. We recommend it to all those who seek to reduce their energy bill.
